This place is over the top and has almost everything I need. I'm not from Missouri and am still finding it difficult to find fresh ochre, but they had it frozen. They also had salt pork when I couldn't find hammocks. Made my holiday dishes so much better to cook with ingredients I'm used to. What is over the top is all the precooked food! It's amazing.
The manager of this store Mr Decker went above and beyond for me today as a customer. Very personable, as well as the ladies in the bakery helping with what I needed in a timely manner. He should be leading and training other managers. I am from out of town but would shop here regularly if I lived here. Great team!
The Crestwood Schnucks remodel is amazing! The restaurants are super good + $5 sushi on Wednesday. The workers are always so friendly. Schnucks has so many great deals + you can use your rewards at self checkout with the schnucks rewards app. Schnucks is way much better then Dierberg's!
Always friendly and willing to answers your my questions. This location is my regular store to shop and I've come to know several employees. The gentleman at the meat counter helps me understand how to use cuts of beef, greeted by a gentleman working in produce with small talk while he gets the fruits ready, talking with a checker and hearing the bagger saying "how are you today"?
Tried out the new food hall today. Delicious! Burgers and bites has a great bacon burger. Order "the Lou" if you like crisp bacon smothered in cheddar cheese. Seoul taco is amazing. Get the Gogi Bowl & you wont regret it!
I've lowered my rating due to the older lady in the deli and her young male assistant. Both are rude people and pick and choose who they'll wait on.
Today I watched both treat a lady rudely. The lady did nothing to deserve being treated in such a manner.
This is a below average Schnucks location based on a very tight and confusing floor plan but what makes it even worse is the seemingly racist older white woman who works in the deli department. I’m not an unfriendly, high-maintenance customer and have picked up meats from this deli several times since I work out at the gym next door. Almost every time I’ve gone during her shift, I noticed that she will avoid making eye contact with me while I’m waiting and will busy herself until someone else offers to help me before she suddenly becomes available as soon as a white customer shows up at the counter (classic micro-aggression). This morning, she was quick to point out to me that they didn’t open until 8:00 in the most unfriendly tone she could muster up when I arrived a few minutes early and then busied herself when I returned at 8:00 until another employee showed up a couple of minutes later. She then instructed him to wait on me and then she stopped “being busy” 15 seconds later when a white male customer showed up. She immediately went over to help him. I guess she thinks I don’t see right through her actions. This is the kind of foolishness and passive aggressive racist behavior that results in negative reviews which wouldn’t otherwise be submitted.
Hate the mandatory self check out in the morning. I used to enjoy conversing with the friendly, smiling cashiers as I checked out. This is a deal breaker for me… I will be moving to Dierbergs across the street. If you want people to self check out you should provide training, benefits, a paycheck, or at the least a discount on what you save after firing all your pleasant hard working cashiers.
